building a modern, flexible and dependable power system. The Education and Capacity
Building Program creates opportunities for communities and organizations to participate
in the energy sector by equipping them with knowledge and training.
The program funds initiatives proposed by First Nation and Métis communities and organizations, co-ops, municipalities, public sector entities,
registered charities and not-for-profit organizations. Projects such as awareness campaigns, material and course development, workshops and
education programs are helping to meet needs of communities and organizations while contributing to the ongoing development of Ontario’s
diverse resource capabilities.
Education and Capacity Building Program 2.0 Now Accepting Proposals - April 23, 2015
The 2015 Call for Proposals is now open. The EBC Program is accepting funding proposals from First Nation and Métis communities and
organizations, co-ops, municipalities, public sector entities, registered charities and not-for-profit organizations. The target dollar amount
available for the 2015 Call for Proposals is $1,000,000.
The deadline to submit a proposal is June 5, 2015 at 12:00 noon (ET).
In 2015, the program will support initiatives in four main categories:
1. Education and safety training for First Responders for emergencies related to renewable energy facilities.
2. Building skills and developing capabilities of staff or community members.
3. Reducing diesel in remote Ontario First Nation communities.
4. An open category for unique and innovative initiatives that fill a gap in the sector.

Proposal and Approval Process
All proponents are asked to read the ECB Program Rules and Guidelines before applying.
All proposals will be reviewed for completeness and eligibility requirements. See the ECB Program Rules for full requirements. Proposals that are
complete and eligible will be assessed by an independent review committee and scored based on a points system.
