Staff BIO

Deborah Doncaster has been the Executive Director of the Community Power (CP) Fund since founding the organization in 2007.  Recently the CP Fund was awarded the co-management of the Community Energy Partnerships Program grant program.

In 2008 Deborah chaired the Green Energy Act Alliance, an organization including thousands of stakeholders calling for a Green Energy Act for Ontario.  For her work on the campaign, Deborah was honoured with the City of Toronto’s 2009 Green Leadership Award for Market Transformation.

Previously, Deborah was the Executive Director and co-Founder of the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA), and Project Manager with the Toronto Renewable Energy Co-operative.

Deborah holds Master’s degrees in Law from Carleton University and Environmental Studies from York University. She lives in Toronto with her husband Ben and seven year old son Devon.
